Looking back to your preliminary task, what do you feel that you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
I feel that I've have learnt quite a few things about the film industry. How it can be very tedious working in the editing stage trying to make something work without breaking the continuity of the scene. I had to make sure that everyone knew what they where doing for the product to be developed as fast and efficiently as possible, it isn't easy. However I didn't make the same mistakes that I made when doing the preliminary task for example, I didn't get a match on action shot correctly and so had to work my way around it but in this no such problem had occurred.
I think my preliminary task was rushed but because I could take my time with this task I think it is of a much higher standard than the preliminary task. With this task I edited sound more and found that it wasn't all that easy getting the balance right. i had to make sure that the soundtrack was hear with enough diegetic sound to show verisimilitude in the scene.
I now understand all the pre-production issues that a studio go through before even beginning to film, e.g. recce, costume designs, props list, script, storyboard. All these must be finalised before a single shot is filmed, that way everyone knows what they are doing and it'll be much faster and easier to get the job done.
I enjoyed doing this task as it has taught me skills that i hope to use in the future of my study of media. This really gave me a chance to express myself and make something that was my idea and came from nothing into something, i'm quite proud I should say. I definitely feel more confident doing this sort of thing again and hope to in the future.
