This is the credits timeline, it shows when the credits will be displayed in our film. Showing what time and which credit will be shown. The titles are numbered to show the order of them.

The second line is the audio we haven't written anything because we couldn't estimate what time the audio would come in.

I think that most of the costumes would follow a dark colour scheme e.g. crimson (blood red), black, grey, navy blue, and so on.

Vince Vinny would be wearing:

• black striped shirt
• black blazer
• black striped tie
• Smart black trousers
• black leather shoes

the concept of all the black is to show Vinny as being quite evil as he is a mafia mobster/criminal. The suit is a classic mobster look showing he is a professional criminal and not just a small time burglar.

Max Phillips would be wearing:

• casual navy blue/grey hoody
• blue jeans
• trainers

Max is just a security guard so he hasn't got the style that Vinny has. He also isn't to uptight about his looks so it would seem appropriate that he is dressed in such casual clothes.

Sara Carter would be wearing:

• dark grey/black coat
• crimson lipstick
• grey blouse or shirt
• grey/blue jeans
• trainers

Again Sara is only a  secretary but is also the villain in the opening scene so her colours represent danger e.g. red lipstick. She also has a short of mystery about her as we do not see her fall on at any time in the opening scene.

Final Synopsis Idea

The final synopsis idea is that there is a box that everyone wants a man has the box and is burying it meanwhile a woman enters the area, takes a shovel hit's the man over the head with it (kills him) and takes the box. She then opens the box and looks inside, the viewer cannot see what is inside the box. She then closes it curb stomps the mans head and walks off with the box.

My Film Synopsis Idea

I was thinking that the general plot of the film would revolve around a box that everyone wants for some reason but the viewer themselves don't see what is inside the box until the end of the film. This idea I think fits nicely with the thriller genre as there is a sense of mystery and enigma as the viewer wonders what is inside the box. The film is given an edge to it as people would even kill for the box rather than just steal it. This would be shown in the first scene someone would kill there best friend for the box. Inside the box is the key to eternal power but no one know's where the door is. The killer now has the box and is trying to find the door. Other people find out about the box (main protagonist, criminals, other people) and are hunting down the killer. However what they do not know is that the killer is actually trying to find the door to destroy the box but he's going through anything to stop people obtaining the box and eternal power.

The film opening itself would be set in a woodland area or park. I think that it would be shot in a grey filter to make everything look grim (just incase it's a sunny day.) The opening would contain a man trying to bury the box and another man coming from behind him, killing him and taking the box. I don't think I would show the killer's face. I'm debating putting a narration over the scene just to describe the history of the scene, but I would want to create more questions than answers so it doesn't explain the scene just gives the viewer some context.

Course Work-Genre Decision

My group and I have decided to do a thriller genre, because we know a lot about the codes and conventions of a thriller film. We also have a very interesting idea for a thriller film and so are doing that genre.

These are a couple of thriller films with interesting openings:





They both don't show the protagonists face or any real protagonist. As you can see they both have an emphasis on the colour red which connotes blood, danger, warning, etc. These title sequences both focus on the way the words are formed whether it's through blood and on parchment or in empty space with lots of other letters.

Research in Film Openings

I have chosen the opening sequence for Fresh Meat and Misfits. The reason for this is that I hope to pull off something similar to their title sequences as the words aren't physically there but they are corresponding to the image behind them. I hope to animate my text so that it isn't boring and just overlapping the image behind it. It would be much better to animate the text making it lively and catching the audience's attention.

Notice how the text is intarracting with the image, for example the TV is showing an actors name while the radio appears to be tuning in to a station but again it's an actors name as though it where a station. This inspires me to make my own titles a bit like this following specifc colour schemes and such.

Unfortunantly I cannot get the Misfits opening sequence as it has been copyrighted on youtube and I can't find it anywhere else.

However in the sequence the text again are used in harmony with the image behind them for example an actor is running and as he runs past the titles appear behind him. The titles themselves are in a grimey font as thought they have being spray painted again this works with the context of the show.
